Our project unearths difficulties faced by one cross-section of the marginalized community. Our goal is to develop an e-book, specifically examining how COVID-19 has shaped the new lifestyle of students across the globe in their learning, working and day-to-day activities.
Our project is the first step to elevating social impact through the establishment of a long-term objective, inspiring students to have their experiences heard, seen and represented while utilizing their voices as true catalysts for change.
The youth of our communities have so much to offer to the world - we believe in the power and strength we hold, and know that we can mold future generations to come.
Our project unearths difficulties faced by one cross-section of the community, marginalized within this pandemic. Our goal is to examine how COVID-19 has changed the livelihood of the global student community in their learning, working and day-to-day activities. We have incorporated nineteen unique outlooks into the short story e-book, “COVID-19 Perspectives”, with accompanying illustrations, to weave together and illuminate the hidden and vivid impacts of this pandemic on the wider student community.
As we are both artists passionate about creative expression, we wish to ensure that artistic forms of expression are able to contribute to the COVID-19 response management. By encompassing stories and visionary artworks from a diverse age group and wide spectrum of different backgrounds, our project fosters the creation of a global hub capable of encouragement and motivation to reassure students that they are emotionally supported. Offering a variety of rich stories empowers not only our student community, but also the international community, to come together, and embrace and learn from the impact of lived experiences felt by many. By utilizing the power of social media we are able to form connections amongst a wider range of students.
Our project is the first step to elevating social impact through the establishment of a long-term objective, inspiring students to have their experiences heard, seen and represented while utilizing their voices as true catalysts for change. All proceeds from our book will be donated directly to COVID-19 relief funds, organizations and frontline workers at the heart of this crisis.
Through showcasing the nineteen pertinent experiences on an international platform, our project contributes to the COVID-19 response by allowing multilateral perspectives and student engagement to flourish. Through our planned activities and goal to share the student voice, the culmination of a multitude of unique and distinctive stories will bind together the international community. The experiences shared throughout our book carry the potential to revolutionize thought and mobilize action on both a local and broader scale, enabling students to emulate the call to global response echoed by their peers. Our project will cultivate global engagement by fostering a multitude of far-reaching voices and perspectives, which our book will highlight.
Our book functions as a stepping-stone with the larger aim of engaging students within the pillars of global mindedness and spearheading youth action. We hope to continue this initiative long-term by partnering with different NGOs and organizations such as Plan International and youth-led foundations such as Children for Children, to pave additional avenues for youth to become social justice warriors. We also plan to host associated events such as a TEDxYouth talk where we can fuel our capacity to interact with youth on a greater scale. By equipping them with the tools and support, we encourage youth to find their purpose and become agents of change.
Ultimately, our book is a cornerstone to building a bigger social platform where we are able to elevate our voices in the wider global scheme.
